Mnarani Turtle Conservation Pond, Nungwi, Zanzibar

Creatures of the ocean, elegant and precious, with numbers declining all over the world, sea turtles need to be conserved. That is why a grass-roots project on the north coast of the stunning island of Zanzibar, Tanzania, set up by local villagers, thrives on saving these animals. By promoting education and nursing injured turtles back to strong health before releasing them back in to the wild, Mnarani Turtle Conservation Project, is crucial to the turtle population of Zanzibar.
